This book is authored by a group of individuals who have published several important papers in the area of injection mold design and are quite knowledgeable in the field. They belong to a select group of academicians who have successfully commercialized the software developed in their laboratory. Overall, I found this book to be easy to read and full of useful information. This book should be attractive to a wide range of audiences from beginning students to experts in the field of mold design and manufacturing. Introductory chapters are devoted to present the background and necessary terminology related to the molding area. This feature will be especially attractive to newcomers to the field. They can begin reading this book without first needing to read an introductory book in the injection molding area. After the introductory material the book describes in detail geometric algorithms related to optimal parting direction selection, parting line generation, determination of parting surfaces, generation of cores and cavities, undercut recognition, and cavity layout design.
